Our Humble Beginnings

The Veteran Grocery was the result of a heartfelt local initiative. Our founder, a retired veteran, started the tradition of gifting grocery cards to fellow veterans during the holiday season.

The profound impact of this initiative led to discussions among other veterans and eventually birthed the idea of a nationwide nonprofit, dedicated to alleviating food insecurity among veterans.
